Third time lucky.
First closed, then open.
After Saturday morning's snowstorm, the decision was made that the Allsvenskan premiere at 3Arena would still be played under closed roof.
David Jesperson Mora, press officer at Hammarby Football, writes to Sportbladet that the club has held ongoing meetings with the stadium during the morning.
Then the final decision was made: the roof will be kept closed during the premiere.
" During the morning, SGAF had a team working to get the roof opened even though the weather conditions were not optimal and had changed since last night, " the club wrote in a statement on its website, which continues:
" Temperature measurements on the roof structure today at 11:00 a.m. unfortunately mean that we cannot open the roof without risking damage to vital parts of the roof structure. In addition, snow has accumulated on the roof, which further complicates opening it. "
The decision was reconsidered
On Good Friday, Hammarby published a statement in which they explained that the arena owners SGAF had decided to close the roof during the Allsvenskan premiere match between Hammarby and Mjällby today.
The reason was stated to be the risk of the roof structure being damaged at temperatures below three degrees.
Later that day, the decision was reconsidered and instead the decision was made to leave it open. The decision was made assuming that the forecast did not deteriorate, which it did on Saturday with a snowstorm in Stockholm.
The match kicks off at 3:00 p.m.
